Okeanos is a planet whose economy lives off the sale of Fucusois, (Street name: Purple Seaweed) a highly potent drug that has almost zero side effects. It is neither addicting nor easily detectable. Many of the citizens are routinely under its influence and go about their daily lives. In fact, since the economy and the population depend on it, almost every facet of their culture has grown around it. You can only find Fucusois deep in the oceans of Okeanos and nowhere else in the galaxy. Adxolotl worked for a drug lord who operated deep-sea purple seaweed extraction to undercut the government-run legitimate operation. Highly complex and completely illegal, these operations carry the death penalty for any involved but the margins are too good for the “business” men of Okeanos to pass up.
While on a easy score one day (easy meaning only a 77% chance of getting caught) Adxolotl's friends decided that sampling a bit of the Purple Seaweed they picked up wouldn’t hurt. They had never tried unrefined before and thought that it might be a killer experience. Adxolotl frowned on the idea and urged them not too, but they wouldn’t hear it. They figured nobody would notice that a small percentage went missing. While they were riding off the drugs influence, Xolo got them safely back to their home underwater megacity of Venosk. But someone did indeed notice the missing sample and the crew woke up with seven guns pointed at each of them. Knowing that the big race tournament was coming up, the boss figured Adxolotl and Sharkbait were good enough to win. It was either race, or you and your friends and their families die.
